Suzy Kim explores themes of growth, healing, and her reverence for the natural world. Inspired by the environment that surrounds her, her abstract body of work notices the beauty in the natural and mundane, speaking to those who long for peace in the midst of a noisy world. Her works are a sanctuary of rest, a meditation with those who take the time and stillness to embrace the beauty of all that surrounds us, even in the smallest of textures.
Naturally-sourced materials are an essential part of her practice, reflecting her admiration for the everyday moments and materials that go unnoticed. Intuitive and organic textures guide much of her technique, as Kim continually expands her experimental approach to painting and grand reverence for nature.
She currently pursues a BFA in Painting at the Rhode Island School of Design.
